Quality Control System

When you’re first beginning, quality control isn’t that important as you will be doing your own work and checking it as you go along.

Once you hire a team, quality control becomes EXTREMELY important.  This is because you need to make sure that everyone is on the same page about the mistakes that should be avoided and the vibe of the videos.

There are 4 phases of team growth as illustrated above.  In the first phase it’s just you.  In the second phase you have a video editor but you do everything else.  In the third phase you have a small team that takes care of nearly everything but you’re still running the show, coming up with ideas, and doing quality control.  In the fourth phase you have a bigger team and you hire a creative director to take over the leadership role from you, come up with great ideas, and also do quality control, so the only thing you have to do is record the videos.

We are going to go through the 4 main Quality Control Checkpoints and what you, or your creative director, should be checking for at each point.

The four checkpoints in order are: The Idea Generation Checkpoint, The Script Writing Checkpoint, The Video Editing Checkpoint, And The Final Checkpoint.

Idea Generation Checkpoint

Review the training that talks about “Viral Video Idea Selection” and the “Icahn Method” in order to do this step of quality control.

At this point you will have gathered many ideas for possible videos you could make using the Icahn Method.  These ideas would be stored somewhere such as Asana’s Board feature.
